EVERONE SHOULD SEE THIS AND HELP THE PRIMATES!
I am trying to find out what discoveries have been made from torturing these primates. I have done alot of google searches but haven't found anything. If anyone know what cures or medicines were discovered using Chimps and other primates will you please post them. I think they have suffered enough. Please help stop them from hurting them.
I AM DISAPPOINTED TO KNOW THAT THIS IS ALLOWED IN OUR COUNTRY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE SCIENTISTS COULD DO THIS TO TO THESE ANIMALS...ALL THIS PAIN AND SUFFERING FOR NOTHING....
ReplyDeleteI am not advocating the treatment of these animals in such ways, but as far as chimp testing goes, the Hepatitis B vaccine that is currently used worldwide was developed using the chimpanzee model. There are many other diseases that have been studied as well including AIDS, Hepatitis C, Chagas, and so on and so forth. Their genome is 99% the same as a humans, which unfortunately make them a prime target for research if we are to help humans survive these diseases. I'm not saying this makes it ethical, or that it's okay.
ReplyDeleteI'm just saying that I personally know a LOT of people who claim to be anti primate research, yet still get their vaccines and boosters. I think it's a very large hypocritical point, because the people who GET those vaccines(because they want to live through these diseases) create the demand.
